Welcome to Sound Over Time
Over the past three months, Sound Over Time has spent the majority of its time interviewing upcoming artists and learning about the music that laid the groundwork for their own work and creative process. The S/T newsletter represents a branching out of content for us, as it will function as a place for lists, essays, and guides in order to further help our readers find more and more new music. The S/T newsletter will function in a five-week rotation:
Week 1: Genre Guide
On Genre Guide weeks, we’ll be picking a sub-genre and providing a list of songs, albums, and artists to listen to for anyone who’s looking to get into it. It will, of course, come with a playlist compiling everything we’ve recommended.
Week 2: Five Perfect Songs
our Five Perfect Songs series is pretty self-explanatory; we’re writing at length about five songs that we think are perfect.
Week 3: What We’ve Been Listening To
Once again, a pretty self-explanatory title. When WWBLT weeks pop up, you’ll get an assortment of our favourite tracks, arranged nicely into a playlist.
Week 4: Long-Form Essay
The Long-Form Essay Weeks are the most vague of the newsletter’s themes. We don’t even know what we’re going to cover yet; but it’ll be an opinion-based, musically-themed article covering everything from abstract ideas to current controversies.
Week 5: Monthly Bandcamp Roundup
For this week, we’re entering the big, beautiful world of Bandcamp to bring you some of the best music on the platform in order to support the best independent artists working right now.
We’re super excited to start using the Newsletter to bring you a new, more varied version of Sound Over Time. Subscribe below, and don’t forget to tell your friends to do the same!
In the meantime, tell your friends!
